This has to be one of my favorite restourant in America. I grew up in Italy and rarely find the Italian Restaurants in the States to be at the top of my expectations. But I must say Serena is AMAZING. First of all the bread is truly special. It is homemade, soft and flavorful. You absolutely will not find better bread anywhere. The prices are perfectly reasonable: an alternative to terribly expensive North End restaurants. Try the Salmon crusted with crab for an entree and the fried calamari for appetizers. Always fresh, always special. I really am a big fan of the service as well and the atmosphere is relaxing and romantic even.

This charming little Italian restaurant in Malden's Maplewood Square is still somewhat of an undiscovered gem. The quality of food is high and the service is always first rate. Tasteful quiet music adds to the comfortable ambience. My favorite appetizer is the grilled calamari in spicy tomato sauce...delicious. Their chef's salad is a wonderful mix of greens, olives, crispy bacon, roasted tomatoes, etc.
